The City of Chamblee joins Nextdoor (www.nextdoor.com), the private social network for neighborhoods, to improve citywide and neighbor-to-neighbor communications. This integration with Nextdoor will enable Chamblee and the Chamblee PD to use Nextdoor to build stronger, safer communities with the help of residents. The Chamblee PD and Nextdoor neighborhoods will be able to work together to improve safety and strengthen virtual neighborhood watch efforts. Sixteen Chamblee neighborhoods have already started Nextdoor websites.
If you are not on Nextdoor, join Chamblee and Your Chamblee Police Department on Nextdoor.com. Nextdoor is the free and private social network for neighborhoods. On Nextdoor, neighbors create websites for their neighborhoods where they can ask questions, get to know one another, exchange local advice, and share important safety information.
Tens of thousands of neighborhoods are already using Nextdoor to do the following:
• Find trustworthy local resources, such as babysitters, plumbers, and dentists
• Communicate with neighbors and police about suspicious activity and safety concerns
• Organize neighborhood events, such as garage sales and block parties
• Get assistance in finding lost pets and missing packages
• Sell or give away items, like an old kitchen table or bike
