During construction the developer is required to protect the street and surrounding property from mud and runoff using “best management practices” to contain the soil within the construction area. The City has given them permission to use a portion of the park near the tennis courts for a temporary construction entrance and staging area. They will erect a fence to protect the construction area and will be temporarily blocking a portion of the sidewalk near the curve in Keswick Drive. During the next six months, the sidewalk on that side of Keswick Drive will be closed. However, the sidewalk will remain open on the northwest side of Keswick Drive. You will be able to cross Keswick Drive at the crosswalk where there will be a temporary gravel pedestrian pathway that goes across the multi-purpose field and rejoins the existing walking trail next to the tennis courts so pedestrian access will be maintained.
All of this is being closely monitored by the City on a daily basis to ensure they are following the city’s ordinances and are being respectful of the street, the sidewalk, Keswick Park, residents nearby and the citizens who use these city facilities on a regular basis.
