Parks and Recreation
The Department Mission
The mission of the City of Chamblee Parks and Recreation Department is to provide safe, clean, and beautiful parks facilities while providing quality leisure activities for the community. These services shall enhance residents' health and well-being and promote economic vitality for long-term community sustainability. We will accomplish this through creative leadership, environmentally sustainable practices, and the responsible use of available resources.
The Parks and Recreation Department is submitting an application requesting federal funds to go toward completing Phase I of Dresden Park improvements. This phase entails the reconstruction of the parking lot at Dresden Park to include 30 additional parking spaces, new parking lot lighting, sidewalks, landscaping and drainage to address standing water issues. The Community Project Funding initiative will allow individual members of Congress to request federal funds to go toward projects and programs facing the communities they represent. If you see parking as an issue at Dresden Park, please help us get the word out to our Congresswoman Lucy McBath (GA-06) by sending a support letter. To make things easy for you, we’ve provided instructions, the link to get started and a few paragraphs as a starting point for your letter. Online support letters are due by Friday, April 16 and only take a few minutes to complete. Thank you for your support! Find the letter here.
