The Criminal History Section is open Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The office is closed Fridays. Please bring a state issued ID and $10 money order, cashier's check, cash or debit or credit card for payment.

All mail requests must be submitted to the Chamblee Police Department, Attn.: Criminal History Section, 4445 Buford Highway, Chamblee, GA 30341. Mail requests are $10 and must be paid by money orders or cashier's checks. A photo copy of a state-issued ID and/or a business card must be included.

Clerks process criminal history record checks, which are requested by employers, landlords, child care providers, etc., using the arrest records maintained by the Georgia Crime Information Center (GCIC). These checks are provided pursuant to Georgia Law, which allows the dissemination of this information with the consent of the person whose record is being checked. This record is a full background check, which means it is a criminal history check from age 17 to present.
